Take to the rink: Vienna Ice Dream

From 21 January to 6 March Vienna City Hall Square is transformed into a giant ice rink and paradise for ice- skating enthusiasts of all ages.

The fabulously illuminated façade of Vienna's City Hall is the backdrop for Vienna Ice Dream, a 2,000 square- metre outdoor ice skating rink. Every day from 9am to 11pm wildly groovy and sweepingly elegant loops can be cut to disco hits of the 1980s and 1990s, joined by the occasional waltz or two.

There are also three curling rinks for a sporting challenge, and over a dozen stalls serving international refreshments from savoury snacks and sweet delights to aromatic punch and pick- me- up cocktails. Ice skate hire is available.
