Vienna Ball Saison

Famous melodies and waltzing bliss are guaranteed at the 300 hundred plus balls due to take place at Vienna's finest ballrooms during carnival season.

The first large- scale event of the season is the Imperial Ball on 31 December, where revellers ring in the New Year with a whirl in the regal setting of Hofburg Palace.

A colourfully decorated Vienna City Hall is hosting the Flower Ball on 14 January. And the Vienna Philharmonic Ball takes place in the Musikverein's Golden Hall on 20 January. Once the sole preserve of the nobility, the Hofburg now provides a fitting backdrop for large traditional balls for up to 3,000 guests. The Physicians' Ball (29 January), the Hunters' Ball (31 January) and the Coffeehouse Owners' Ball (4 February) are all taking place in the former imperial state rooms.
The glittering climax of the season and one of the main events of the social calendar is the Opera Ball (3 February) when high society congregates at the State Opera House.
