The first Flugtag took place in 1991 in Vienna, Austria. Since then Red Bull has been produced more than 28 Flugtags across the world- from Warsaw, Poland to Cape Town, South Africa. Flugtag made its debut to the US in 2002 when it flew into San Francisco, CA.
Red Bull accepts 30 teams to take flight for each Flugtag. Selected pilots spend about two months building their homemade human powered flying machines and creating their pre launch show.
Flugtag demands creativity and brains to build your aircraft, and other significant body parts to actually fly it!
