ROMEO & JULIA
Following its world premiere at the Palais de Congrès in Paris, on 19 January 2001, this spectacular production became the musical in France and went on to conquer the world, being seen by audiences of over six million and counting. Following its Paris run the show toured France and was subsequently staged in Canada, the UK, Scandinavia, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Russia and even as far afield as the Philippines. So far, there have been 17 productions in nine languages.
VEREINIGTE BÜHNEN WIEN (United Theatres of Vienna) acquired the rights for the German- language premiere from City Light Entertainment, and it is now being produced in Vienna. The splendid musical based on this 400- year- old — but eternally young — material will have its debut on 24 February 2005 at the Raimund Theater in Vienna.
